| News update! -- The gig went really well at the newly vamped Tabernacle - with our circus as the highlight of the night. Nathan - Anno\'s Africa\'s tightrope trainer from last year (L\'O.N.G c\'est Toi) came over from Paris and did a spectacular walk across the front of the stage from one balcony to the other, bouncing perilously on the wire whilst juggling three batons, then returning wildly waving his black and red \"anarchy\" flag accompanied by Ned\'s KjD\'s \"Landslide\" video on the screen behind him. We also had three aerial performers from Bassline Circus (inclding Natalia who taught in Kenya last year) who knocked us out with their three very differently choreographed acts. Natalia was beauty and technical brilliance personified, Safia incredibly lithe and sexy, and Lucy mysterious and enigmatic. Outside we had a beautiful girl eating fire as well as stilt walking and juggling from Natalia and Nathan. Sadly The Mystery Jets\' singer Blaine couldn\'t perform due to illness but two of the guys from the band did a DJ set for us which was really great of them. The other 5 bands were all terrific especially (for me) Teddy Nygh\'s rap group. Teddy ended up the live music part of the show by rapping a few personal lines for Anno which reduced me to a sentimental heap. They were good friends as children and his poem recalled their many hazardous adventures together in North Wales. I have to confess that we didn\'t make a HUGE killing financially (although we did okay) but everyone had a whale of a time and the evening was most notable for its promotion of the new Anno\'s Africa charity which will be set up by late June early July. We will be doing the same work as before but no longer under the S.A.F.E umbrella --(althouh I am staying on as an enthusaistic SAFE Trustee) and we will link up again in Nairobi, with SAFE performers helping on our Drama programmes. But perhaps the most exciting thing to come out of the night on the 16th of May was the feeling of empathy and support for the kids in Africa from all those young people in the audience in West london.... Love Mama Bee xxxxxxxxxxx ps the new website is now up and running - www.annosafrica.org.uk where you can see what we have done and what we are planning for the next year. Also I will be posting some brilliant photos of the gig by Steve Peake as soon as I can sort through them all.x\r\n |

| Tom - how moving your posting was to read. I have often wondered about the friends who lost touch and never knew the fate of the boys. Alberto's mother and father - Isa and Mario - are coming to see us in London this week and will be showing their Italian friends Alberto's old haunts - and probably the music college too... How wonderful that after all these years you leave your message. Where are you in France? And do you still play? If so please let us know... Love Beeeeeexxxx ps Anno had a few friends in Los Angeles who probably never knew his fate either - as he was known to them as "Alex" then. Maybe one day Prokush or Nathan or his guitar teacher Malcolm Lindy might appear on the site!! Let's hope... |

| thinking of you so much today, Anno, Lee, Alberto...in all the IDs of math and the collaborations of art! As to Tom - just read your post, sorry you had to learn about your friend in this way. Thank you so much for sharing that story. Never knew Alberto (or Anno or Lee), but what an encounter in humanity and music for everyone here! Glad you guys met and planned. God knows what will happen when the universe brings the morrow, so blessings and cheers. Keep playing. And I echo the poster below in wondering and hoping that the gig went well for everyone! Lots of Love xxxxxxx |

| Hi everyone,
Tom here, from France...
How did I get here? Well, this is the story:
I am musician, the drums are my instrument. In 1998, I decided to go to London to attend the Drumtech, which is a part of the Powerhouse music school. Soon, I became friend with an italian guy called Alberto, a drummer just like me. It was actually pretty obvious that we had a lot in common and that we could learn a lot from each other. Which we did.
We spent the whole year working hard together on our instruments, trading tips, learning new concepts, techniques or whatever from each other, because we just had the same passion.
At the end of that year, as I was getting ready to go back to France, we decided to stay in touch, which we did via e-mails until 2001. From early 2002, I was surprised not to get answers from Alberto anymore. We had a couple of friends in common, all Drumtech mates, but none of them knew what was going on.
As years passed, I just told myself that he probably had lost my adress, or something stupid like that, you know.
But a couple of weeks a ago, I had the idea (took me like seven years) to google him, and I found the KJD page.
And that when I found out what had happened...
I just didn't know.
Not to have any news from a mate for years, and then learn that he died, seven years ago, is quite hard to take.
I had a amazing year in London, partly thanks to this crazy guy. He was a funny guy, always ready for a laugh and a drink, frank when necessary, proud of what he was achieving (student of the year that year, I remember)... a good bloke, really. What a waste.
Anyway, just wanted to leave a few word about the man... Thanks for reading if you did.
Alberto, I miss you, you italian ass.
Cheers from France,
Tom. |

| Hurrah for having the discipline and passion for being able to go through the physical pains of a Buddhist monk to witness such a concert! i envy them in being able to soon experience KjD for the first time, and to check out your insane edit of Landslide! Cheers Ned, you have a brilliant heart! The boys are so lucky to feel it beating in the way with theirs. |
