| Was "reading" the Anno's Journey book and several others of the series with the artist, and his horse, and the shores of life with the clear and hidden paintings. I thought of all these happenings in you guys. Following wind and water, such timeless beings sing death like the poets. Much love to you noble Ed X and your friend that ingested music of the night...just like Anno. How wonderous for those two to have you, Ned, in their endless journies. xxxxxxxxxx |

| Aw Ned, that was very sweet. It appears you lot have had many
pets over the years, and that they seem all too eager to be joining
the boys! That was a very moving though..

| My lizard, Phoebe, died a few days ago, at the ripe old age of about 15. All these eras keep ending - each time I can\'t help feel a little bit of Anno (and with him me) goes with them. I remember showing Phoebe to Honeysuckle the first time any of us met her, when she was at Iverna auditioning for a part in a scrpt Andrew was casting for. \r\nI just finished burying Phoebe in the square in Iverna. Another little one joins your ranks Anno - give her a stroke from me and don\'t forget to keep her stocked up on crickets, of which she has sent many your way over the years. |

| Anno's Africa is under way at St Johns School where we worked last year. -- This week we have run an advanced art course for the kids from last year; clay modelling, amazing abstract masks, perspective drawing and many other new crafts. Today we start all the other disciplines and next week the programme begins in three new schools. All well apart from the fact that it's the short rains season - which means - guess wot - rain. Hard to live in the slums in these conditions - water dripping through the rooves , flooding - mud everywhere - no way to dry clothes and so on - so spare a thought for what it means for the kids even just to get to school... But come they do - with their beaming faces and their absolute dedication to learning. The two art teachers from Edinburgh say they have never known kids with such committment and enthusiasm in all their teaching experience. The circus programme has advanced hugely with Nathan - from France - coming in to teach SERIOUS juggling (5 balls), high wire and stilts and Natalia arriving next week to for ariel silks!!Also Anna will be starting the proper ballet classes which will be another new adventure --and Billy had created wondrous instruments out of junk to demonstrate what is possible for the kkids to make themselves for their Makalele Band. We are all finding an absolute joy to be working on this project again. A rather different subject that song was on, but who wouldn't echo that lyric when looking at these wonderous, amazing kids, and all this love they're being given by you guys. I can hear Anno singing, "I'm coming back to what I know."
