Thinking of Anno this morning as the light poured into the window, and it let me ponder the years of Isaac Newton, following of the echoing of this quote...
"I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me"
May the force be with all of you. |

Happy Birthday, Andrew!
And Anno, who would be 26, no? Ah, even for little me here, the years go by.
Take care, you two. |

To awkwardly tie communism to Job: Job 7:2-3
“As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling
looketh for the reward of his work: So am I made to possess
months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me.”
I wonder if Marx was struck by those verses, him seeing religion
as the opium of the masses? For the unfortunate there is no
reward for their work, as their effort is spent rewarding the
fortunate and they are left with nothing but meager means for
survival. However, I loathe the notion that religion is nothing
but a system, which is used to reconcile the poor with their
poverty. I have had what could be called “religious experiences”
and it would trouble me to think that everyone else didn’t as
well.
As for Christianity, it’s heartbreaking to know that a merciful
God would, for even a moment, turn Job over into Satan’s hands,
to prove that his perfectly faithful servant wouldn’t waver in his
devotion. That is certainly a God to be feared. Really, it
shouldn’t be God that is feared - we should fear ourselves
because it's our unsteady devotion to a jealous God will be
punished. The Tao Te Ching illuminates that:
“Hope and fear are both phantoms that arise from thinking of
the self”
I like that much better.

In doing the laundry upon this far midnight, my spirit suddenly returned to the new trails within the Tao of Physics, and after running into my room, climbing up my tilted shelf, grabbing the ripped, milk-stained, pen-marked little book, god and i had a dance within this passage...
"The basic recurring theme in Hindu mythology is the creation of the world by the self-sacrifice of God - 'sacrifice' in the original sense of 'making sacred' - whereby God becomes the world which, in the end, becomes again God. This creative activity of the Divin is called lila, the play of God, and the world is seen as the stage of the devine play."
Forgivness, as i don't really have a point for posting this, unless i'm under the spell of maya...? |
