| Apparently the BBC are repeating the programme this Sunday @ 6.15pm on Radio 4. I've thanked Karen Rose elsewhere, but would like to reiterate that she was really the director and co-writer - it was her idea, she made all the choices from the sound track of the 1978 BBC-TV "Lost Boys" - all I did was help link them together. Further thanks to Ian Holm, who made new recordings of some of Barrie's letters as well as reading Anno's poetry, as did Anno's mum Bee, and Alice Coultard, who played Sue in "The Cement Garden" and was Anno's first major crush - to all three my enormous gratitude. Btw, the original BBCTV "Lost Boys" is finally on DVD (with all profits to Great Ormond Street), and there's loads more on Barrie, Michael and P Pan at www.jmbarrie.co.uk |

| A truly wonderful programme, not least the performance from Sir Ian Holm, who seemed to be both Barrie and Anno, am I correct? And was that Anno's mother Bee reading two of the poems, her voice so brave and proud and heartbreaking? My humble gratitude to all concerned for a one of the finest radio programmes I've ever heard! |

| I sat in my car yesterday. I was late home from the nonsense that is my life at work. I was so profoundly moved by your story. In spite of its sadness, yesterday made a little more sense. |

Like many, I also heard the Lost Boys
Broadcast and it affected me very deeply.
I am the father of three growing boys and I
take great inspiration from Anno's story and
his fathers strength and profound insight.
In these awful times we are living through, we
should all be grateful that such people live
and have lived amongst us.
Kindest regards, deepest sympathy and
whatever love I can send to family and friends.

it was so moving to hear the lost boys today on radio 4... at first, i
was listening purely abstractly, captivated but distanced. slowly
the story became more and more familiar with its telling and i
realised tht it was a tale that I knew only too well. it was when you
mentioned anno's brother david, that i realised that this was david,
who has been a good friend of mine at oxford..., and I recalled so
vividly hearing of anno's death at the time.
this personal connection made the story all the more touching.
it was so beautifully told. i spent the rest of the day feeling the
resonance. thank you. |

| At times I had to leave the room and for most of it I stood in the doorway because even though the play was utterly beautiful, I found it so hard to hear. It resonated very deeply and stirred up feelings that although never gone I had carefully put to one side. Probably a bit too carefully. What a beautiful boy he was and continues to be. Thank you. |

I've been a frequent visitor to Anno's site for a few months and want to echo the sentiments of many others and say how much I loved the R4 play today. Thanks to the internet, I was able to listen to it in my kitchen in Berkeley, California. I thought I'd be able to peel potatoes at the same time (usually a fab multitasker), but just stood at the sink for the duration with the peeler in my hand and tears in my eyes.
Thanks for such a wonderful and personal insight.
Love, Becky (better get on with the potatoes....) |

| I was very moved by 'The Lost Boys'which I listened to today. I was shocked to hear of Anno's death. I taught him at Fox School when he was about 7 or 8 and remember him with affection. I was a teacher for nearly 20 years so knew many children. Anno is one I have always remembered. I watched 'The Lost Boys' on the TV all those years ago and treasure it as one of the best things I have ever seen. I was telling my family about it when we were on holiday in the summer and also mentioned Anno. I had no idea then what had happened. I remember walking back from a visit to Kensington Library one day and Anno talking to me about 'The Lost Boys'. He was so proud. I also remember a parents' evening when Andrew was unable to be present as he was in the States. Anno had a very good report and his mum said she was going to phone him to tell him about it. It's so unusual to have such clear memories of a child one knew nearly 20 years ago. I can see that he grew into such a talented young man. |
