i haven't been able to paint for what seems like ages ... couldn't find the light i used to paint by. but after six weeks, the not-painting was starting to hurt. i was listening to anno on my mp3 player on sunday and 'worship' came on and i managed to get some preliminary drawing done while listening to him. haven't done anything since, but it was a start!

it's funny, i still don't feel like using uppercase letters when i post here. i feel my voice should stay small, out of respect for anno, among all the voices of his friends and family who post here and who really knew him.

thank you so much, mama bee, for your kind words when i was in pain. they meant so much. they are printed out and are now included in a special album of memories.

love,
e-j x

Dear MammaBee,
Perhaps Anno was an angel and perhaps he had good guidance in this world, You offered me comfort even though you must feel the same, I'm ashamed to say I forgot to notice those around me who loved and lost too, you reminded me and I find comfort in them and when the day is too long I remember how brave you must be. I know from the words Anno wrote he was a miracle, but I think you must be too, from one tested mother to another you are an inspiration. Ellen

Dear Ellen.... I sit under the delicate branches of Anno's tree and feel for you and your scar tissue. I hold your hand across the dark. Love from MamaBeee.X

So many comforting words, when it seems like the lights have gone out, "Scar tissue heals but never feels again", please somebody who knows, tell me this doesn't mean that my world will never mend. The colours are fading with every hour he's gone,no doubt following him to paint his world, and it's killing me. I think those who love a soul taken too young will understand, but when does comprehension dawn?

The bloody events in London this week remind me once again of the beauty and wisdom of Anno's words back in 2001:

Don't let the smoke of New York city
cloud your eyes to the horizon.
From here it looks alight with blood & fire.
That we are moved by such desires as murder
Moves me into tears.

I'm so intrigued by the depth of this website, I could spend all day exploring its labyrinth of music, words, pictures, videos - and so much that is unexpected, like Anno's brilliant script pages from Back of North Wind, or the Russian translations, or Anno reading Peter Rabbit. Thanks to all who make this site possible x

e.j -- what to say ? Just that I'm thinking of you and touched that you find comfort on this site. I know that we all empathise with what you must be feeling. I wish I could offer you more than words - a sympathetic ear and an arm around your poor shoulder is what I'd like to send... "The warmth will come again someday, somehow..." Anno was right - tho' it takes a bit of time. Love from MamaBeee xxxx
