Few years back I was invited to Anno's Africa event In London, not
knowing anything about Anno. Soon I quickly I realised how
incredibly talented a poet he was. The love and emotion of the
crowds present that evening was overwhelming. Andrew made a
speech and my heart was torn apart. I felt his pain. The pain of
loosing a son.. I wanted to talk to him. I wanted to tell him about
my own experience that there is not such think as death but it's not
easy thing to say to someone who grieved a son for 14 years. I
don;t want to be seen as an Atheist or Theist, neither Agnostic, or
Gnostic or any kind of similar religious person or any labels. The
only thing I learned from life is that we are nothing we don't exist at
all ( in a few hundred years or less most of us will have gone as if
never existed, and the writing on the Tomb stone will also vanish ),
whatever exist doesn't appear, has no beginning nor end. There is
only one thing that is real and that is consciousness alone, no
beginning no end for it. We have all been conditioned since
childhood into thinking a certain way, specially about death.
Conditioned to believe that when something end it is for EVER. That
death is PERMANENT non existence, that what comes as death is for
ever. How do you destroy the western concept of death?. If non
existence ( death ) was permanent, you could not have come into an
Existence ( Via Birth ) because before your birth we where non-
existent and again if non existence ( before birth ) was forever how
could we get into an existence (birth)?? That's how this western
concept of permanent death is destroyed. Further: Ancient yogis of
India experienced for thousands of years on the science of SELF
knowledge ( internal science as opposite to western external
science) and their legacy is only reaching us today. We are not the
body, we are not the mind, Atma or Soul. What we are is the light
beyond and that can not be named. The only reason we are
confused into thinking something is to be lost is because we
wrongly identify our self as Body Mind (Atma or Soul).Everything has
a beginning and end and that circle is called "life" it's a circle
because it never cease. Anno mentioned in his poetry that there is a
jesus in all of us, he was so right, Jesus once said "the kingdom of
god is within". he didn't say it's out there. We only have to dive
within our selves, There is really no god(s) outside SELF (
consciousness alone ), the true self is beyond the ego mind ( the
false self ) and must be transcended so that the unreality of the ego
mind can be realised. ( thus acting from self rather than acting from
ego are the marks of an awaken and enlightened being ) God is not
an object, god is the subject, you alone are god. consciousness
alone exist, it exist alone as one in all being. You are the light which
shines and expands into the flower of human consciousness. So the
ego mind is there as a tools for realising the true nature of one's
own being thus transcending the ego ( the shadow ) .The birth of
the ego is called the birth of the person. Whatever is born, is bound
to die. The Self remains even after the death of the ego. The reality
alone. Training the mind helps one to bear sorrows and
bereavements with courage. But the loss of one’s offspring is said
to be the worst of all griefs. Still it is true, pain on such occasions
can be assuaged by association with the wise.

Back then, nothing was easy, nothing was certain but the sense
of creativity and authenticity. None of us knew where to live, or
where to go, but we knew what to do, and we set about doing it.

Almost everything is the same now, where to live? Where to go?

Since November 2001, have just been killing flies. Not knowing
what to do, just looking for useful distractions, something to
pass the time, to get a result that matters to somebody, anybody
who cares less but more than I.

I sometimes wonder if I remember what to do, or why to do it.

Perhaps I am waiting for something to happen, to get back to
where we left off. It takes time to realise

Sadly the flesh fails us, after a while, as does the memory.
Fingers once keen now shake, crack and creak, places in my
mind where sounds used to grow lie barren and dusty. The years
have not been the kindest. The mind once perhaps too full lies
empty. It is simply not a practicality to even entertain the idea of
doing as we once did.

It seems a shame to forget not just the details but the most
important parts – the why and wherefore.

This sound of a ticking clock, one could be hearing a drumbeat,
not just some rendition of repetitive mechanism, something with
its own character.

I mark out time with monotony, quietness and patience. It'll need
more than two minutes silence I guess.

Through the silence, sometimes, on a good day there is a sound
in the breeze that stirs a distant memory.

One hundred years ago today, George Llewelyn Davies was killed on Flanders fields at the age of 21.
According to J M Barrie, George was the “real” Peter Pan. A few months earlier he had given a rare interview to the New York Tribune: "It's funny that the real Peter Pan — I called him that — is off to the war now. He grew tired of the stories I told him, and his younger brother became interested. It was such fun telling those two about themselves. I would say, 'Then you came along and killed the pirate' and they would accept every word as the truth. That's how Peter Pan came to be written. It is made up of only a few stories I told them."
George's brother Peter later wrote, "Few that survived [the war] would recall anyone whose image serves better as the flower and type of that doomed generation. Average age about twenty-one; on the whole a devoted, laughing, fatalistic, take-it-as-it-comes company, often coarse of tongue, too young to have been coarsened in body or soul by the asperities of adult life — the bloom of youth on them still. Among them George was unquestionably conspicuous ... He had so much that was really good without being in the least good-goody, and was such fun, and so tolerant, and would have been such value always; and blood and background and memories are a mighty strong bond; and how few, after all, are those in all one's life with whom one can be completely at ease. That he had his fair share of the celebrated du Maurier charm or temperament, is certain; there was also a good leavening of sound, kind, sterling Davies in him too. I think he had that simplicity which J.M.B. saw in Arthur, and which, though I only partly understand it, I dimly perceive to be perhaps the best of all characteristics. In fact I think he had in him a very great deal of the best and finest qualities of both Arthur & Sylvia. But it was all of thirty years ago, and he was only twenty-one, and what do I know about him really?"
In his 'Dedication to Peter Pan', Barrie recalled George as being "the most gallant of you all." I visited his grave in 1984 with Bee and Anno, then aged 3. I always felt that Anno and George shared many characteristics, and so today I remember them both with deep affection and love.

Drove the old route from Wales to London yesterday
- having avoided it for so many years because of
the stinging memories - but it was lovely to pass
the Little Chef - your favourite stopping place
for pancakes when you were little. How we laughed
one time with Pippa when they said they "didn't
have the facilities" to boil you an egg. Oh Anno -
14 years on and memories so vivid -- and the pain
still so raw.xxx
